ECU Colour & Richmod

Postby Daddypimpin » Sun Jun 06, 2010 11:55 pm

I know theres loads of info on it but thats the reason I'm confused lol!

I have a Burgundy/ Red ECU & keeping my eye's open for a Richmod ECU. I just saw a Post though that said the Automatic ECU is different!?! Does this mean I will still be able to run a Richmod ECU?! If I can still run the Richmod ECU, can I use any colour, as I see the Red ECU is the most interchangeable 1?

If anyone as kept their head around that then please try & give me some info, cheers!

I have an auto and used to test rich mods the ecu makes absolutly no differance what so ever! the ecu colours are whats important!! Not the if it's manual or auto.

(i have a 440 turbo automatic with a blue ecu richmod!)

Also what year is your car? as if you have a red ecu i wouldnt change it for any other colour. If your car is post 93/94 ish (my 440 is a 94) then a blue ecu will work but you weill need to get the fuel ecu to go with it!

When i comes to richmods it's best to stick to the one youve got.

My Car is a "H" reg so 1990 I think.

Are you saying I shouldn't change my Red ECU for a Richmod ECU?! I don't understand that if the Richmod was made for more power than any of the other ECU's!?! Do you know where any of the Richmod ECU's have gone?! I really need 1 or I will have to do the whole Megasquirt thing!

No no no what i was trying to say was if you have a red ecu you want a red richmoded ecu, as your car is a 90 reg a blue ecu wont work so your going to have to hold out and wait for a red richmod to turn up, or see if anyone is going to do a trip to see rich. Sorry to say but the richmods are popular and dont turn up that often, keep an eye open on the for sale section and sometimes on ebay.

(edit:-)
Oh well done jim you beat me lol
