Generic trim screws

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Generic trim screws

Postby Captain Slow » Sat Jul 03, 2010 3:46 pm

Does anyone know what size/typ these screws are?
Image

Image, so

They are the screws that secure many of the trim fittings, the dash, the front light clusters, spoiler etc. I have many many missing so I'm trying to source some new ones! Volvo can no longer source any, and dont know what size they are, Ive checked loads in my dads shed, but cant find any the same, similarly at B&Q/wickes, so I think I'll have to nick a load from a breaker, unless anyone knows what they are!?

Jim, If your kind offer still stands could I take you up on it please?

I was kinda distracted (see another post for reasons...) when I saw your reply and forgot about it :wall:

yeah no problem will look out a few of every type and label where they are used (in the dash as well)

they come in 4 sizes short / med / long and the one which holds the side trim in with the special "square u shape yoke"!

easy to use start with the smallest then if thats too short next in length and so on cant fail/breal anything that way.

Indeed. Thanks again for that Jim-PM me when you've collected them :D

At the moment the reason I'm after some is to hold the front spoiler on, but I'm sure I'll find other holes to fill

front spoiler is totally different!

the holes are bigger and the fixing is far more substantial trim screws wont do it. Need to check again but its raining (again)

Even the ones underneath that screw towards the bottom of the grille? The spare screws I have laying around seem to screw in there fine, though a bigger washer may be required. I already have a plan for the 2 bigger ones that secure the sides of the spoiler.

As far as the spoiler is concerned, they are some type of self-tapper. I recently bought a set, (8 I think), from Volvo, at very modest cost.
