1995 Volvo 480 Turbo (modified)


This page is the journal of my Volvo 480 Turbo, bought in winter 2001, high mileage, (105,000) but mostly motorway and a full Volvo service history meant this car was in excellent condition. Indeed I took it to my local Volvo garage for a service soon after buying it, and upon collection they remarked "We couldn't find anything to do, so we just changed the oil and filter. This car is in excellent condition" - made me smile anyway :-D

Only a year later, I decided to buy a Manual Boost Controller to squeeze some more boost out of the car, I also fitted a K&N panel filter at the same time. Little did I know then that this was the beginning of the slippery slope of performance modifications, although I am adimant that this will be no Max Power Kevin's car...

Powerflow stainless system added
Magnecor KV85 8.5mm racing leads
ASCAR stainless system added - new downpipes - 2.5" tapering to 3", 3" all the way back
Fox Evo 2 17" alloys added
New head, with DBS high lift cam and bigger valves etc
Head ported
Higher rate injectors from SAAB 2.0l turbo added
PI 40mm drop lowering springs fitted
Koni Yellow front shocks fitted
Clifford Concept 400 Alarm/Immobiliser fitted
Clifford PC port and Voice Synth fitted
